IQ Derma consists of two formulas: RestorEyes (a firming eye treatment) and iDisquise (a firming eye concealer). We will review each product separately.

RestorEyes is intended to reduce dark circles and improve the overall look of the eyes by also diminishing crow’s feet and wrinkles in the eye area. It includes three active compounds: Haloxyl, Grantox and Dermaxyl. Haloxyl consists of natural enzymes that are supposed to break down and absorb the pooled blood that clogs and causes dark circles to appear. Grantox is intended to mimic the effects of Botox®, specifically by relaxing the muscles near the eye area so they are less likely to crinkle and crease. While there is not a lot of information available on Dermaxyl, since this seems to be Intelligent Beauty’s proprietary ingredient, it seems to be a complex of peptides (protein precursors) that decrease the volume and depth of eye wrinkles. 

iDisquise was formulated to also reduce dark circles and diminish eye-area wrinkles, but it is also used to decrease undereye puffiness. Like the RestoreEyes formula, it contains Haloxyl and Dermaxyl, which seems a curious (an perhaps unnecessary) choice that could be seen as redundant. However, iDisquise does contain a unique ingredient called EyeLiss, which is supposed to improve blood flow to the under eye area to reduce puffiness and bags.

The primary web site for the IQ Derma system seems to be primarily focused on marketing the system’s 2-week free trial. It does contain a few details on these ingredients, as well as some information on the clinical studies conducted on the individual components of the system. It is interesting to note that, while the company touts its 100% improvement statistic, further investigation revealed that this measured “overall improvement.” When it came to specific measurements and improvements, the results were less than 100%. While this is understandable, we wish Intelligent Beauty had not hidden these statistics, including the fact that only 76% of customers saw a reduction in dark circles after using the system for six weeks or longer. The rest of the web site does, however, include plenty of information, including details about the free trial, testimonials from satisfied customers and similar features.

Conclusion
We do not doubt that most people who use IQ Derma will notice improvements in the appearance of their dark circles and crow’s feet. The question is whether most people will want to wait six weeks to see these effects, since this is the time used for the clinical study. In addition, we were slightly disappointed to see that IQ Derma did not contain an eyelash formula, since this is also an important factor in promoting beauty in the eye area. We give IQ Derma a tentative recommendation, but feel there are probably more complete systems that work a bit faster.
