Considering their impressive research on the Tripeptide ingredient combination, we decided to look into this eye formula.

Featured Ingredients
Like the other products in the Hydropeptide line, Eye Extreme Dark Circle Concentrate contains the company’s proprietary blend of peptides called Tripeptide. This ingredient complex contains several types of peptides, which were first discovered in 1978. Research has suggested that certain peptides can have beneficial effects on the skin because certain peptides can signal the specific production of collagen and other key compounds, which help counteract the effects of aging and help produce healthier, younger looking skin. Azure’s research on Tripeptide’s effects on the skin is impressive.

Eye Extreme Dark Circle Concentrate also contains ingredients that help to rid the eye area of iron and other pigmented substances that can cause the delicate skin near the eye to look dark and discolored. However, we were unable to determine what those specific ingredients are and thus cannot judge whether they in fact are the best choices for this effect. In addition, Eye Extreme Dark Circle Concentrate contains compounds known as Crushed Pearls, which are supposed to refract and emit light that helps reduce the appearance of dark circles and other types of skin discoloration. According to Azure, this results in a brightening and lightening of the eye area.

Unfortunately, considering the impressive presentation that Azure Cosmeceuticals makes on Tripeptide and its positive effects on wrinkles and other signs of aging, the web site does not contain the same in-depth information on the specific nutrients in Eye Extreme Dark Circle Concentrate that help reduce dark circles. We would have preferred to review information on these ingredients, as well as studies showing how the Crushed Pearls affected light, especially compared to such established ingredients like Lipolight. In addition, we feel it is unfortunate that Eye Extreme Dark Circle Concentrate is not available for a free trial, which gives customers the opportunity to try out a product before deciding to pay full price.

Using a specific combination of chelated minerals, this complex has been found to detoxify the skin why also promoting optimum moisturization. While these effects can be important for eye care as well, the team at EyeWrinkleReviews.com decided to skin the MD Skincare formula for the eyes, known as Hydra-Pure Firming Eye Cream, a closer look.

Featured Ingredients
Hydra-Pure Firming Eye Cream, like the other products in the MD Skincare line, contains the aforementioned Hydra-Pure Complex. According to the company’s web site, this ingredient combination can have profound effects on the eye, since it helps removes iron and other heavy metals, which can cause the blood near the eye area to pool and become oxidized, which leads to the dark circles and other discoloration that most people want to get rid of.

The Firming Eye Cream also contains 14 additional ingredients, which are meant to specifically revitalize the eye area. Unfortunately, aside from Hyaluronic Acid, we could not determine what those 14 ingredients are. We do not think that MD Skincare is trying to hide those ingredients from the public, since this company has a strong reputation. But for the purposes of our research, it would have been helpful to know what those ingredients are. While the effects of Hydra-Pure Complex will help diminish dark circles, we wonder what other ingredients are included to enhance this effect. Hyaluronic Acid will undoubtedly add more moisture and hydration to the eye area, which is helpful, but hopefully the product also contains Lipolight, Actiflow, Glucosamine Complex and other known skin rejuvenators. We hope we can one day find the full listing of ingredients, and thus become able to fully endorse this formula.

The web site for Md Skincare is quite extensive. Even though the company offers dozens of products, many consumers could get easily lost on the site, since there are so many categories and so many ways to search for products. Fortunately, MD Skincare only offers one formula for the eyes, which makes that searching much easier. But we think the web site could use some simplification overall.

Conclusion
Until we receive full information from MD Skincare about their Firming Eye Cream, it is not possible to provide a full 100% endorsement of this formula for promoting youth in the eye area. Based on what we do know, however, we can give a tentative recommendation for the formula. Perhaps it would best be used as a supportive formula along with a comprehensive system like Dermitàge Eye Renewal Collection or some other products offered by Dermalogica and other similar high-end companies.

As of now, Benev only offers one product for eye care, which is simply known as Benev Eye Cream. According to the company’s official web site, this formula is intended as an under-eye treatment for dark circles, wrinkles and dryness. Based on the fact that the company is well-known and frequently search on the Internet, the team at EyeWrinkleReviews.com decided to evaluate this eye care formula.

Even though Benev has a fairly solid reputation around the world, we were surprised to see that a listing of the ingredients for the Eye Cream is not available. While the web site describes the product as being useful for the eye area, and the company claims that it can brighten the skin and thus reduce dark circles - as well as diminish wrinkles and moisturize dry skin - we cannot judge whether the product actually performs any of these functions. Without knowing which ingredients are included in Benev Eye Cream, we will not be able to complete this review. Unfortunately, this casts a negative light on the company as well.

Athena 7 Minute Lift has gained some attention recently because it was featured on Good Morning America and several popular magazines. Many people have become intrigued by this formula, since it offers a unique approach to skin aging. Not only do the makers of Athena 7 Minute Lift claim that this formula can help reduce wrinkles and the appearance of other signs of aging on the entire facial area, but it is also touted as a product to specifically target crow’s feet and problems near the eye. In our experience, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to design a product for general facial aging as well as one that works on the eye area, since the skin near the eye is very delicate and thus has its own specific needs. But we decided to keep an open mind while reviewing Athena 7 Minute Lift.

Featured Ingredients
Athena 7 Minute Lift is unique among skincare products, in that all of its ingredients are organic botanical compounds. While we are not aware of extensive clinical studies conducted on these ingredients, that doesn’t mean that they don’t have positive effects for the skin. In fact, Athena 7 Minute Lift contains 13 specific botanical extracts, some of which have a long history in traditional cultures for promoting healthy skin. For example, avocado oil has long been known as an emollient that helps hold moisture into the skin to keep it soft and supple. In addition, it is well known that lemon peel oil and orange peel oil are rich in vitamin C, which is a powerful nutrient that can help protect the skin against the aging effects of sun and the environment.

However, since this web site is specifically concerned with aging skin near the eyes, and since Athena 7 Minute Lift claims that its formula can help those concerns as well, we were underwhelmed to find that none of the listed ingredients seem to have specific benefits for dark circles or other eye concerns. Chamomile, because it is a calming extract, may have a beneficial effect on under-eye puffiness, but the research for this ingredient is not as impressive as Actiflow and other known compounds.

The web site for Athena 7 Minute Lift seems to spend a lot of time and space touting its appearance on national talk shows, and less effort describing any, if any exists, research on the clinical effects of the formula. Although the descriptions of the botanical ingredients are clear, they do not specifically describe how they affect aging skin. As mentioned, the claim that this formula also addresses eye-area concerns seems flimsy, at best. In addition, since the product is quite expensive (over $89 a bottle), we were disappointed that the company did not offer the formula as a free trial.

While this formula may make a good general skin health formula, we would look elsewhere for addressing dark circles, crow’s feet and other types of aging skin.
