Overview
Based in Naples, Florida, Nutritional Science Laboratories has been operating since 1993, when it began the Stripeptin line of cosmetic formulas. Although we have seen plenty of online advertisements for Stripeptin products, we cannot vouch for the company’s reputation for distributing quality products, since most of its products are available through third-party affiliates. Stripeptin currently offers two separate formulas for the eye area, one called Stripeptin-DC (for dark circles) and the other called Stripeptin-PE (for puffiness).

Featured Ingredients
Stripeptin-DC is intended to reduce dark circles by using methods employed by other cosmeceutical formulas. According to the company, this formula contains a blend of enzymes that are supposed to help break down pooled blood and other materials that can cause dark circles to form. The formula also contains peptides that are supposed to strengthen the collagen fibers that keep skin firm and tight, while also producing signals that keep muscles contractions from occurring in the hopes of diminishing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Unfortunately, Stripeptin does not disclose while enzymes or peptides are included in the Stripeptin-DC formula, so we cannot evaluate its effectiveness.

Stripeptin-PE is formulated to help reduce the appearance of puffiness and under-eye bags. According to Nutritional Science Laboratories, the formula contains a mixture of bioflavonoids, peptides, moisturizers and firming agents that are supposed to calm swollen skin and help reinforce skin to keep puffiness from occurring. However, the company does not specify what the actual ingredients in the formula are, nor does it provide any scientific substantiation for its claims. The team at EyeWrinkleReviews.com is beginning to wonder whether Nutritional Science Laboratories is nothing more than a clever nickname, since the company seems intent on hiding the ingredients in its formulas, which we find troublesome.

Web Site Description
The Stripeptin web site does a good job of providing plenty of material, except perhaps for the most important information of all. The web site does contain plenty of testimonials and before/after photos of those who have used the products, as well as a clear explanation of how the formula is supposed to work. We also were pleased to find that the product can be tried free for 14 days. Unfortunately, none of this information makes up for the fact that the company does not reveal the specific ingredients in its products, which to us raises serious questions about the integrity of the company and its marketing methods.

Positives
- Plenty of customer testimonials and a clear description of the products- Free trial is available for both eye formulas

 Negatives
- No ingredients are revealed; product cannot be evaluated for effectiveness

- Company does not disclose the results of any testing, if any has been conducted

- Lack of research on the products and its ingredients raise serious questions

Conclusion
Even though both Stripeptin formulas seem to be intriguing products for trying to get rid of dark circles and under-eye puffiness, we cannot recommend either Stripeptin-DC or Stripeptin-PE until the company reveals what ingredients are included in the formulas.

Overview
EyeVive is apparently produced and marketed by a company called Dermastetics, but after an exhaustive search of our resources and the Internet, the team at EyeWrinkleReviews.com could not come up with very much information about the company. That being said, we were still determined to review this product, since it does seem to have a fairly visible presence on the Internet, and is available for purchase at many online stores, including Bodesource.com. This site actually contained more information about the product than the EyeVive web site itself, but it was helpful to compare the details and make a judgment of the product.

Featured Ingredients
EyeVive combines many different ingredients to help reduce fine lines, diminish dark circles and decrease under-eye puffiness. For example, it contains many different kinds of peptides - including Pamitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 - which are intended to relax the facial muscles and reduce the potential for skin to wrinkle and form crow’s feet. In addition, EyeVive contains Chrysin (a citrus fruit extract) and Algae concentrate, which are included to calm swelling in the eye area and improve circulation to the eye area skin, which may moderately decrease puffiness and improve color in the skin.

Unfortunately, EyeVive does not spend much time discussing these ingredients or illustrating how they can produce the kind of effects that customers may want for dark circles, puffiness or crow’s feet. Most of the information on the EyeVive site and the third-party retailers that sell the product focus on the problems that can contribute to eye area problems and what the product is intended to do. However, most of the information about the ingredients was based on our own research and knowledge about products that contain similar ingredients.

Web Site Description
As mentioned, the EyeVive web site spends more time discussing the problems associated with eye-area skin aging and how the product can help. But it spends very little time discussing the ingredients in the formula, how they work or what scientific research supports their usage. The site does contain some before and after photos, which show some of the potential effects of the formula, but they seem a bit “doctored” to us, calling into question the company’s integrity. No free trial is available and products can only be purchased by visiting a separate online store, which may be a hassle for most customers.

Positives
- Some of the ingredients are known for positive effects on aging skin- Some testimonials are provided on third-party retail stores

 Negatives
- Company does not include any research on its ingredients

- Web site contains very little information about the product itself

- Products cannot be purchased directly from the web site; no free trial offered

Conclusion
Even though we are aware that some of the ingredients in EyeVive can help helpful effects on dark circles and other signs of aging near the eye, that is due mostly to our own efforts rather than any information provided by the company. For this reason - and the fact that consumers are expected to purchase EyeVive from separate online retailers - we are hesitant to recommend EyeVive.

Overview
Yves Saint Laurent should require no introduction. This fashion giant is synonymous with luxurious style, and its clothing has inspired breakthrough trends in the fashion world for decades. Like many fashion corporations, Yves Saint Laurent has developed its own unique line of skincare formulas. It currently offers a unique eye treatment under its Age Expert brand, called Age-Defying Eye Cream.

Featured Ingredients
Age-Defying Eye Cream is intended to reduce dark circles, decrease under-eye puffiness and make the eyes look younger through an added hydration benefit. It is important to note, therefore, that this product does not seem to have any effect on crow’s feet or other types of wrinkles that can affect the eye area. While Yves Saint Laurent does offer other products for this intention, we wanted to make it clear to our readers that the Eye Cream is primarily for dark circles and puffiness.

Age-Defying Eye Cream contains a unique combination of ingredients that frankly we have not seen in other formulas. While some of the ingredients are common to some products, this formula contains various new compounds that are intriguing. For example, Age-Defying Eye Cream contains Ganoderic Fraction, which seems to be a concentrated extract from a type of mushroom. Apparently, this ingredient helps to reactivate the epidermis (outer layer of skin) which could help rejuvenate the skin. Yves Saint Laurent reports that Ganoderic Fraction is a natural alternative to DHEA, an anti-aging ingredient reported to make the skin look smoother. There are also several plant and botanical extracts, such as Apricot extract, Tomato extract and Sweet Almond seed. Apparently, these ingredients not only soothe and calm swollen skin, but they also offer their own brand of antioxidant protection.

Web Site Description
The Yves Saint Laurent web site does a good job of capturing the essence of the classy image that the company has portrayed for years. The descriptions of its skincare formulas are simple and original. However, while a full ingredient listing is available, we found ourselves wishing for more details about the unique ingredients in the Age-Defying Eye Cream, such as Ganoderic Fraction. In addition, we would have felt more enthusiastic recommending this product if there were some links to research studies on these individual ingredients, so we could judge their effectiveness as objectively as possible.

Positives
- Yves Saint Laurent is a commanding name in fashion and beauty- Eye formula offers a unique combination of ingredients

 Negatives
- Product is not offered as a free trial ($68 a bottle)

- Web site is missing a more thorough description of the ingredients in the formula

- No customer testimonials are posted about actual experiences with the product

Conclusion
Based on Yves Saint Laurent’s wonderful reputation in the beauty and fashion world, we have many reasons to expect that its Age-Defying Eye Cream will produce some positive results for most people who use it. But the problem is that we cannot be 100% positive of this fact until we get more information about the individual ingredients in the product, since we cannot verify the science supporting its potential effects.

Overview
Jan Marini is one of the most recognizable personalities in skincare. She has appeared on dozens of television and radio shows, as well as infomercials and magazine articles promoting her products. One journalist, in fact, dubbed her the “Derma Diva” in an attempt to capture the essence of this engaging personality. When Jan Marini started her cosmetic company, she attempted to become one of the first skincare professionals to utilize a new kind of stabilized pro-vitamin C compound. Today, this compound is combined with her unique delivery system and makes up the bulk of her anti-aging products. She also became one of the first manufacturers to promote the use of Glycolic Acid for exfoliation of the skin. Jan Marini offers several lines of products, including her Transformation line, C-ESTA line and Age Intervention line. For our purposes, we decided to review the Eye Cream within the Age Intervention line.

Featured Ingredients
The Jan Marini Age Intervention Eye Cream features a combination of Peptides and Retinol (pro-Vitamin A). According to the company’s web site, this eye cream helps to lift and firm the skin near the eye, providing an enhancement of the contour of the skin. We are aware of some research that supports Peptides as a method of tightening the skin. Peptides are chains of protein molecules that help to relax the facial muscle contractions that can lead to wrinkles. While their effect tends to be more mild than Botox, they can produce a similar effect.

Retinol can be used as an antioxidant compound that helps to protect the skin from free radical damage, while also promoting better blood flow to the skin. This could theoretically help to lessen the appearance of under-eye puffiness, but Jan Marini does not post any research that substantiates this effect.

Web Site Description
Overall, the Jan Marini site can feel a bit overwhelming. Although it contains a “search” feature, which is helpful when conducting research on its products, the sheer number of product lines and specific products can be a bit confusing for the average visitor. In addition to its skincare lines, Jan Marini also offers several products for skin problems ranging from acne to rosacea. We were intrigued by the fact that the web site posts four categories of testimonials: customers, estheticians, skincare professionals and celebrities. Unfortunately, while the web site contained plenty of praise for its products, we were disappointed by the lack of clinical data or research on the ingredients in its products. A link on the page describing the Age Intervention Eye Cream appears as if it will show clinical results for the product, we were taken to a page with testimonials on the product. Perhaps the survey on the Eye Cream is still being conducted, but considering Jan Marini’s history, we find this hard to believe.

Positives
- Jan Marini is a recognizable personality in the skincare industry

- The web site contains plenty of customer and professional testimonials

 Negatives
- No clinical research is provided to support claims for the Eye Cream

- While the Eye Cream may help wrinkles and fine lines, we are not sure if it will help dark circles

- No Free trial of the product is available

Conclusion
Overall, we suspect that using the Jan Marini Eye Cream will probably produce some benefits for most people, but probably mostly in the form of firmer, tighter skin near the eye area. While this may also reduce puffiness, we would have liked to have seen more ingredients - such as Actiflow - that specifically address this problem. In addition, the formula will not reduce dark circles.
